Mount Moorosi
Geography and history
Mount Moorosi, including the Sebapala Valley, is a town situated in the Quthing region of Lesotho. This historical town is home to the cliff-fringed fortress of Chief Moorosi who was a thief in the 1850s. The Sebapala Valley is a magnificent high mountain valley located on the A4 road.
A campaign against Chief Moorosi was started in 1879 and led by the Baphuthi people. Together with the help of the residents of Mount Moorosi, a wildlife conservation program has been set up in order to help protect the Bearded Vulture.
