Matsieng
Geography and history
Matsieng a small village situated in the Maseru region of Lesotho. This quaint little village is located only 7 km from Morija. This village is made up of a mixture of Basotho rondavels and colonial sandstone buildings. The present king, Letsie III, lives in his traditional home in this area. Although the Palace is a wonder to behold with its fine architecture and beautiful surroundings, it is unfortunately not open for public viewing.
On the 2nd of June 2007 Prince Lerotholi was baptised as David at the Roman Catholic St Louis Church in Matsieng. This ceremony was overseen by Archbishop Bernard Mohlalisi who is the head of the Roman Catholic Church in Lesotho.

Although a relatively small village, Matsieng has affordable accommodation for tourists who would like to stay over. Although the village of Matsieng does not offer many activities, the beautiful natural surroundings is enough to inspire tourists to do something outdoor.
